Day 1 Depart USA Overnight
flight to London.
Day 2 Arrive London After checking into your Trafalgar hotel, the rest of
the day is to adjust to our new and exciting surroundings. Hotel: Chelsea Village Hotels
Day 3 London – Stratford – Coventry – York A warm welcome from our
Tour Director today as we drive past the Cotswold Hills to Stratford-upon-Avon.
Here we visit Shakespeare's birthplace and drive past Anne Hathaway's
cottage. From here we continue to Coventry, home of Lady Godiva, where
we see both the old and new Cathedrals. Next we travel to Viking York.
Later, we will enjoy a welcome beverage with our Tour Director before
dinner in our hotel this evening. Hotel: Queens
Day 4 York – Edinburgh (2) This morning we enjoy a walking tour
with our Tour Director through the medieval streets to the 'Shambles' and the
gothic Minster. Next, we're off to Durham, which is dominated by its
12th century Norman Cathedral. Then we continue through the Northumberland
National Park, past the ruins of Hadrian's Wall. Later, we cross
the Scottish border where we see the famous Jedburgh Abbey en route to Edinburgh,
Scotland's elegant capital. Hotel: Point (2 nights)

Day 5 Edinburgh sightseeing We visit Edinburgh Castle and see
Holyrood House on our morning sightseeing tour. Later, time at leisure,
to perhaps take an optional excursion and shop along Princes Street for tweeds
and tartans. Or why not sample some delicious shortbread? This evening,
perhaps experience an optional Scottish evening with dinner, Highland dancing,
bagpipes and haggis.
Day 6 Edinburgh – Aviemore After breakfast we drive towards the Fife
coast to St. Andrews, home of the famous golf course. We
continue over the River Tay, through Dundee and Perth to Pitlochry.
From here we cross rugged, heather clad scenery via Blair Atholl to the
Highland town of Aviemore.

Day 7 Aviemore – Glasgow Today spectacular scenery awaits us as we drive
past Culloden and Loch Ness to Fort William glimpsing at the imposing
peak of Ben Nevis – Britain's highest mountain. Then on through Glencoe
to the shores of picturesque Loch Lomond en route to Glasgow for
dinner and overnight. Hotel: Moat House
Day 8 Glasgow – Lancaster This morning we will drive through the Southern
Uplands past Moffat to Gretna Green, where traditionally eloping
couples married against their parents' wishes. Afterwards back into England
where we stop in Grasmere, home of the poet William Wordsworth. The
breathtaking scenery of rolling hills and lakes enthrall us as we head to Lancaster.

Day 9 Lancaster – Chester – Wedgwood – Bristol Our first stop this
morning is in Chester to admire the architecture of the galleried
'Rows'. Next we visit the famous Wedgwood Pottery Centre with time to
purchase some fine china. From here we cross into Wales and the Wye Valley
to view the majestic ruins of Tintern Abbey. Finally, we make our way
to Bristol where tonight we enjoy dinner in a characteristic

Day 10 Bristol – Bath – Stonehenge – Salisbury – London We make
our way to the beautiful city of Bath this morning. On our arrival we
will view its superb Georgian architecture and enjoy a visit to the Roman
Baths. From here we continue our journey across Salisbury Plain making a
stop to view the ancient monoliths at Stonehenge. Later, we visit Salisbury
with time for views of its impressive Cathedral before we carry on through
Wiltshire and Hampshire back to London. Hotel: Chelsea Village Hotels

Day 11 London – USA After breakfast this morning, time to bid farewell
as we transfer to the airport for our return flight to America.
