Day 1 Depart USA Overnight flight to Zurich.
Day 2 Arrive Zurich We transfer you to your hotel on arrival at Zurich Airport. After check-in, we enjoy an afternoon orientation tour of this lakeside city revealing its charm and beauty. This evening, we enjoy a welcome beverage with our Tour Director and fellow traveling companions. Hotel: Renaissance Zurich Day 3 Zurich – St. Moritz Snow-capped mountains and sparkling lakes surround us on our morning drive to the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein where we visit its capital, Vaduz. From here we continue via Klosters, favorite ski-resort of the British Royal family, and spectacular Davos. Next its up the Fluela Pass (when open), past picturesque Susch to our hotel in St. Moritz - home of the international jet-set. This evening, we enjoy dinner at our hotel. Hotel: Albana
Day 4 St. Moritz – Italian Lakes (Baveno) This morning we ascend the Julier Pass and continue our drive along the San Bernadino Route to Bellinzona. Then we continue our journey to sparkling Lake Maggiore and via Locarno to Stresa, a pretty lakeside resort. Finally we drive to our hotel in Baveno for our overnight stay. Later, time is your own. Why not take a cruise across the lake to the picturesque Borromean Islands? Dinner is at our hotel this evening.
Hotel: Simplon Day 5 Italian Lakes (Baveno) – Zermatt This morning we drive towards the majestic Simplon Pass, 6,600 feet high. Later, we reach Tasch to board the electric mini-buses and taxis which take us up to the picturesque village of Zermatt. Zermatt is still a traditional Swiss village of wooden chalets and window boxes. With a little time at leisure why not take a mountain ride for fantastic views of the Matterhorn? Tonight, dinner is at our hotel. Hotel: Alpenroyal
Day 6 Zermatt at leisure – Geneva Your morning is at leisure in the serenity and crisp alpine air of this mountain haven. Then we drive through the Rhône Valley to Lake Geneva where we view Byron's Castle of Chillon. We continue to Montreux and see the major sights. From here we travel via Lausanne to cosmopolitan Geneva where we enjoy an orientation tour highlighting the Reformation Monument, United Nations' Building and the Jet d'Eau Fountain.
This evening, why not dine on fine cuisine with views of Mont Blanc? Hotel: Cornavin Day 7 Geneva – Lucerne (2) This morning our journey takes us via Berne, where we view the famous Bear Pit, and stop in the resort of Interlaken. From here we continue to Brienz to see the traditional craft of wood-carving with time to purchase a piece or two! Then over the Brünig Pass we arrive at lakeside Lucerne in its beautiful setting for two nights. Hotel: Flora (2 nights)
Day 8 Lucerne orientation After breakfast enjoy an orientation tour around this medieval city highlighting the Lion Monument, built in memory of Louis XVI's Swiss Guard, and Chapel Bridge. Later with a little time at leisure perhaps take an excursion to a nearby mountain peak, famed for its splendid views. Or you may wish to join in the fun of a Swiss folklore show, or simply choose to explore the old city and shop for Swiss watches, cuckoo clocks and delicious Swiss chocolates. Day 9 Lucerne – Zurich – USA It's farewell to Switzerland as we transfer you to Zurich Airport for your return flight to America.
